Beauty | November’s You Beauty Discovery Box

My favourite beauty box just arrived at my door this morning and already I’ve been playing around with all the goodies inside! At £6.95 (including postage & packaging) the You Beauty Discovery Box is my favourite monthly treat, and as usual this month it contains some amazing products all for a great price! The You Beauty Box is different from others as on the 1st of every month you actually get to choose two products from their shortlist plus it includes a few other extra samples. Last month I chose the full-sized bottle of Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquer and an Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick.

So what was included on the Novembers shortlist…

Skin & Tonic Steam Clean (15ml) – An organic cleansing balm to rejuvenate dull skin.

Roques O’Neil Theraper Himalayan Detox Salts (100g) – Bath salts to help combat insomnia.

Rituals Hammam Delight Shower Foam (50ml) – Combining aromatic and revitalising qualities of refreshing Eucalyptus and Rosemary.

Magnifibres Brush-On False Lashes (0.9g) – For an instant false lash effect.

Invisibobble The Traceless Hair Ring (x3) – Smooth,kink-free hair ring to hold back locks

Green People Pencil Eyeliner in Forest Brown (7.38g) – For perfect eye definition

Bourjois Cream Blush (2.5g) – A velvety texture for a revolutionary second-skin effect

Argan Organics Regeneration Anti-Wrinkle Cream (10ml) – Rejuvenating moisturiser to plump the skin and smooth fine lines

I chose the Bourjois Cream Blush in 03 Rose Tender, currently retailing on Boots.com for £7.99 and the Magnifibres Brush-On False Lashes, which can be found on LookFantastic.com at £16.99. My box also included samples of Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm and Iconic Youth Serum as well as a sachet of Aduna’s Baobab Superfruit Powder.

Bourjois Cream Blush

First of all I really like the colour, Rose Tender is a good all rounder as it’s a pretty and delicate shade. This reinvention of Bourjois’ iconic Little Round Pot blush is very buildable and easy to apply whilst being extremely lightweight. It’s cream to powder formula blends beautifully, giving skin a long lasting natural glow throughout the day.

Magnifibres Brush-On False Lashes

This is a very interesting and unique little product, I had never heard of this before and was really excited to try it out as me and false lashes just don’t get along. Basically, you apply your mascara as normal, then when it’s still wet you apply Magnifibres onto your lashes, wait for them to set and then apply a second coat of mascara to cover the white fibres – instant false lashes with no glue, mess or fuss!

It’s pretty hard to see with my rubbish camera but you can just make out the tiny white fibres on my lashes in the first picture. It’s almost like white fluff, I just added the fibres to the tips of my lashes as to not irritate my eyes. The photo on the right is the finished result, also check the pics at the bottom of the post for the overall look of my lashes and blusher.

The fibres stick to your lashes giving a natural but glamorous look. It can be used with any mascara and is very simple to apply. At first looking at the wand I was totally confused but as I applied Magnifibres, as I would my normal mascara, the effect was instant and surprisingly long lasting. I’m not sure how long this bottle would last you but very little is needed to create a dramatic wide-eyed effect so I’m guessing it would last quite a while. This is perfect for false-lash-a-phobes like me who envy the gorgeous volume falsies can give to those who are lucky enough to have mastered their application. This is why I love beauty boxes – discovering strange and wonderful products that at first you might hesitate to try!

What’s your favourite subscription beauty box? Are you impressed with this months You Beauty Discovery Box? Have you tried Magnifibres? What are your thoughts?
